Plotter Printers
The IGPP Helpdesk HelpDesk currently provides two plotter printers named goya and scott for printing posters.
Fees
Print jobs cost $20 regardless of paper used. This , this fee helps pay for the ink, printheads, maintenance, and paper.Glossy and matte paper are readily available and is included in the printing fee. These jobs can be paid through your recharge number. When printing a poster, leave your name, recharge number, and other information on the clipboard next to the printer.
Note: SDSU students should use "SDSU" for the recharge number.
Paper
Glossy and matte paper are provided by the Helpdesk and is included in the printing fee. Paper is 42" x 100" or 42" x 150."
If you would like to print using your glossy paper, please contact the IGPP Helpdesk so we can change the printer paper to glossy and then back to matte once your job has finished.
For Scott, this plotter will be preloaded with 2 semi-gloss rolls of 36" paper. If you wish to print using the larger 42" paper, please send your plots to Goya at this time.
The 2 roles installed are to prevent downtime when one role runs out of paper. When the plotter detects that the role is complete mid-plot, the plotter will automatically feed the second roll and reprint your plot. 36" matte and 42" glossy paper is preloaded on Scott.
Printing from macOS, please do the following to select the desired roll:
- Open the poster.pdf with /Applications/Preview.app
- Select from menu Files > Print...
- Select the Printer scott.ucsd.edu, correct Paper Size and Orientation for your poster
- scroll down and expand Printer Options > click the "i" next to Printer Settings
- From Paper Source select the desired roll that you wish to print from and click Ok.
If the roll is empty, please contact the IGPP Helpdesk so we can change the paper.
PLEASE DO NOT attempt to change the paper rolls or resend your plot to Scott! This on plotters, this will result in back-logging the print queue and will waste supplies.
