Installing Certificates on an iPhone

  1. Retrieve the certificate
    1. If the certificate exists on a desktop or laptop
      1. Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities
      2. Select the certificate needed (either in login or system), go to File->Export Items and select where to save it, The Desktop is the default.
    2. Otherwise, download it and have it saves somewhere on the system.
      NOTE: The file extensions .cer, .crt, and .der are recognized. Also, .p12 and .pfx files are recognized with only one profile.
  2. If the certificate exists on a desktop or laptop

  4. Select the certificate needed (either in login or system), go to File->Export Items and select where to save it, The Desktop is the default.
  5. Otherwise, download it and have it saves somewhere on the system.
  6. Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities
  7. Select the certificate needed (either in login or system), go to File->Export Items and select where to save it, The Desktop is the defaultOpen Mail.app or the equivalent mail application used to send email.
  8. Send an email to the account used on the iPhone with the certificate as an attachment.
  9. Open the email on the phone and click on the certificate.
  10. Select Install when prompted and select continue if prompted when the certificate is not signed.
  11. Select "Done" in the top right hand corner.
