If you are receiving an error that your iPhoto library is too old to migrated over to the new "Photos" application apple now uses in 10.10 and higher you will need the iPhoto library upgrader tool in order to be able to access your photos. You can find this tool as well as instructions on how to upgrade your iPhoto library on the following link
