What to do when I cant send mail from outside of UCSD

If you can't send mail from outside of UCSD it's most likely smtp.ucsd.edu isn't configured to use password authentication and SSL. Please follow the instruction below step by step to make sure your settings agree with the instructions below.

Apple Mail.app should be setup using IMAP (not Exchange, or Exchange IMAP)

For iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad you should use the Exchange protocol.

Your Network password for smtp.ucsd.edu is not the same as your AD e-mail password. If you do not know your Network password you can contact the Help Desk at x41753 for additional instruction.
