Setting Up Additional IGPP Printers for macOS

Questions Addressed

  • How do I setup additional IGPP printers on my machine? 


NOTE: In order to print to a IGPP printer, you need to be on UCSD Network or connected to Virtual Private Network (VPN).


  1. Open System Settings -> Printers & Scanners
  2. At the bottom of System Settings → Printers & Scanners, select "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..."

  3. Choose IP Printer from the top of the window.


  4. In the Address and Queue field, enter the printer's address (printername.ucsd.edu).
  5. Make sure the correct printer model is selected from the Use: pull-down menu.
    If the printer model is incorrect, select a new one from the pull-down menu.  Use:  -> Select Printer Software.  If the correct printer driver is not found, you can download it from IGPP's Guest Software
  6. Click "Add" to complete the printer setup.
