Description

This wiki will show you where to go to check and see if your wired-connected peripherals (keyboard, mouse, webcam, scanner etc.) are recognized by your computer. If drivers are needed and it's still not connecting, this is what can be done to confirm that your computer can see that it's connected.

Steps

Open Applications > Utilities > System Information

Make sure your scanner is powered on.

Under Hardware > USB, you should see your Epson scanner in the USB Device Tree, you can unplug and replug the USB connection to make sure it is the scanner device (as it should disappear and reappear).  This is one way to make sure you are making a physical connection.  If not check it with another USB cable.

If you do not see your peripheral connected, it could mean that the device is not working or is not supported on your computer.
