Questions Addressed:

  • What type of laptop video/audio connections are available at IGPP conference rooms?

Newer Mac laptops come with HDMI and/or Thunderbolt ports. For HDMI simply plug the provided HDMI cable to the laptop. For Thunderbolt use a Thunderbolt to VGA port adapter. Older Mac laptops have MiniDisplay, Mini-DVI and DVI ports, and require an adapter to connect to the VGA port in the conference rooms.

Newer PC laptops are also using HDMI, while older PC laptops still use the VGA port.

HDMI has the advantage of using a single cable for connection to the conference room, while VGA requires an additional cable for audio, when needed.

All rooms have at least 2 of the following adapters: MiniDisplay Port to VGA, MiniDisplay Port to DVI, Mini-DVI to VGA.
