  • Mac OS X
  • Linux

Mac OS X

From the Apple menu in the upper left hand corner, choose System Settings > Network

  1. Select the interface you need the Hardware/Mac/Ethernet address of Wired or Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Click "Details..." to the right of the interface.

  3. For ethernet MAC address under the ethernet connection tab, select the "Hardware" tab to show the address

  4. For Wireless MAC address under the Wi-Fi connection tab, the WI-Fi MAC address will be located at the bottom of the Wi-FI tab.

Linux

  1. In a privileged terminal session, type ifconfig
  2. This will show you a list of network adapters installed. The MAC address is referred here as the HWaddr
  3. If you have a wireless card, then you will see more than one MAC address. Make sure you register the right MAC address
  4. To find your wireless MAC address, type ifconfig. Your wired MAC will be the other one listed in ifconfig.

To use your computer on the IGPP network, you will need to register your MAC address by filling out the Host Registration Form.
