Your network port number, sometimes also called a biscuit ID or network jack, is the identifier written on the port to which you connect your computer. There are usually multiple wall plates in each room with each wall plate usually having more than 2 ports.
Port A is frequently reserved for a phone or fax line.
Here's an example:
In this example, the available port is 1.1.59D.
Due to limited switch space, not all ports can be activated at once, however some open ports may already be active. Please make sure that you have exhausted all the active ports in your office before requesting a new port be activated.
